Stoneware

Stoneware pottery is the most durable and usually used for functional purposes such as cups, mugs, bowls, and plates. But, pretty much anything can be made with clay!

Pieces are fired in electric or fuel based kilns to temperatures above 2250F degrees. This image is after a firing in my medium sized propane fueled kiln. Pieces are fired to Cone 10 in around 8 hours and take 12+ hours to cool.

A wide variety of clays and glazes are available to potters that can be purchased or for the adventurous they can be made to meet whatever texture, color, or finish is desired.
